Popular jailbreak tweak Speed Intensifier, used for the speeding up of iOS animations and transitions, has now been updated to include support for iOS 10.
Apple’s iOS, the software that powers the iPhone and iPad, is one of the most fluid operating systems around and it benefits greatly from Apple knowing exactly what hardware is going into each device so that it can heavily optimize against it.
That doesn’t mean that sometimes it doesn’t feel a little less than snappy, and while it’s true that sometimes, that’s down to iOS getting bogged down a little, often it’s not actually a case of the system slowing down at all. It just looks that way.
That’s because some of Apple’s design decisions, as far as transitions and animations are concerned, are a little over the top. Animations often take far too long to complete, and not because the system can’t do them any quicker the vast majority of the time.
Apple may be trying to hide loading times or perhaps giving its system and apps time to cache data before anything else happens, but there’s no escaping the fact that iOS can be made to feel sluggish when users are forced to wait for an animation to complete. That’s where Speed Intensifier comes into its own. The jailbreak tweak speeds up system animations for opening and closing of apps, loading indicators, certain animations within apps and much more.
You’ll need to be jailbroken in order to take advantage of Speed Intensifier, of course, but the tweak is free to install from the BigBoss repository once you have done so.
Once installed, the tweak simply offers different levels of animation speedup, depending on what it is you want to tweak. You can also customize how fast things are made to happen, so you have the opportunity to tweak things to just how you like them.
