There is a new jailbreak tweak available on Cydia which allows you to enable or disable iOS 4.x features without having to go though the pain of SSH’ing your device.
The tweak, which goes by the name of “MyOS” claims to “easily enable and disable features on your device straight from Settings without having to edit plist” files.
Toggle one or more features and then press the Respring button. By default, only the default features for your platform are enabled as of version 1.0.1
Requires iOS 4.0+
You can enable or disable the following iOS features from MyOS on your iPhone 4, 3GS, 3G, iPad and iPod touches:
- Multitasking
- Homescreen Wallpapers
- Unified iPod
- App Store
- Contacts
- HDR Photography
- Game Center
- Camera
- Voice Control
MyOS can come very handy for slower iOS devices like iPhone 3G or iPod touch 2G, where you can enable or disable, both the supported and unsupported features like Game Center, HDR Photography, Voice Control, Multitasking and Wallpapers on the fly!, without having to install or uninstall apps individually for any of these mentioned features.
You will, of course, need to have a jailbroken iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to install it. Follow our step by step guide posted here to jailbreak your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch with Limera1n or GreenPois0n if you haven’t already.
You can get the tweak for $0.99 from Cydia under BigBoss repository. [Thanks to jjpm2 for the hat tip!]
