Apple has now made available to download iOS 10.2.1 public beta 1 to those public testers who are registered on Apple’s Beta Software Program only one day after making iOS 10.2.1 developer beta 1 available to devs registered on Apple Developer Program.
Also available to download today is public beta 1 seed of macOS 10.12.3 for compatible Macs. Initial betas of both iOS 10.2.1 and macOS 10.12.3 follows hot on the heels of iOS 10.2 and macOS 10.12.2 which were released to public in final version form earlier this week.
As for what is new in iOS 10.2.1 compared to iOS 10.2, well not much has changed it seems with Apple’s official changelog and release notes citing nothing more than bug fixes. It’s likely that iOS 10.2.1 is nothing more than a under-the-hood performance improvement and bug fix release that makes iOS experience smoother on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices.
Same goes for macOS Sierra 10.12.3 as well, with under-the-hood improvements and bug fixes pretty much being the order of the day on compatible Macs on which the update is available to download.
To download iOS 10.2.1 public beta 1, you must be registered on Apple Beta Software Program portal at beta.apple.com and need to have a configuration profile installed on your device. Once you have it installed and trusted, grabbing the update is as simple as heading to Settings > General > Software Update on the device and getting onto the latest beta version.
Same thing applies to macOS Sierra 10.12.3 public beta 1 as well. You will need to be registered at the aforementioned Apple’s portal for public beta testers and once you do, can grab the update from under Updates tab on the Mac App Store.
Happy beta testing!
