It’s taken way, way longer than it should have but you can now finally head to icloud.com on an iPhone, Android phone, or iPad and actually interact with your data.
Previously, visiting the same URL on a mobile device would simply produce a landing page suggesting that you download apps and sign into iCloud that way.
It’s amazing that it has taken Apple this long to make this happen, but it certainly hasn’t skimped on the functionality now that it’s here. The new landing page gives you access to things like Photos, Notes, Reminders, and Find My iPhone. If you visit from an iPad, you’ll get the full desktop interface as if you were using Safari on a Mac.
Now that users can access iCloud apps from their mobile browser, it opens up extra options that weren’t previously available. Users can now download and upload photos to iCloud, while editing notes is a doddle, too.
The same goes for iCloud Drive, which might be the biggest improvement of all, especially if you find yourself in need of a particular file and only have a mobile browser as a means of access.
It’s great to see Apple add this functionality, even if it’s something that should have worked this way for years.
