It’s official. Apple has just announced WWDC 2018 dates, and has also made registration open to developers.
This year’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) will be held between June 4 to June 8, with June 4 also likely being the day on which Apple will host a keynote event with Tim Cook taking on stage announcing a host of new software, including iOS 12 that will come pre-installed on next-generation iPhone.
This year’s conference will be held at McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, California, with registration already open to developers from now until Thursday, March 22, 2018 10:00 a.m. PDT.
Just like the last few years, due to high demand, WWDC 2018 tickets are lottery-based instead of given out on first come first serve basis, meaning once you sign up now, Apple will run your application through a lottery system depending on the number of vacancies available and if you are lucky enough, you’ll be informed about your winning lottery ticket after March 22.
As for what we expect Apple to announce at WWDC 2018, well, the company is expected to introduce iOS 12 for iPhones/iPads, macOS 10.14 for Macs, watchOS 5 for Apple Watch and tvOS 12 for Apple TV. Also expected is major focus on SiriKit, HealthKit and HomeKit in order to make HomePod a compelling offering compared to the competitors out there. There are also rumors of Apple announcing new iPads, refreshed MacBooks and a new version of iPhone SE at the conference.
If you are interested in attending this year’s conference, you can head over to Apple’s official website for WWDC at developer.apple.com/wwdc/ to get started with registration.
Good luck with the lottery! I hope to see some of you at WWDC in San Jose!
