A new video has surfaced, showing Windows 8’s built-in Webcam application in action.
The one minute video shows off the application’s Metro-style interface and is believed to be part of the version of Windows 8 being developed for ARM processors and, in turn, slate computers. With Microsoft currently lagging behind in the tablet market, the Redmond outfit is hoping Windows 8 will be the release that gets them back into the market they started back in the day of the Tablet PC.
Whether Microsoft can compete with the likes of Apple and the plethora of Android manufacturers remains to be seen, with Windows Phone 7 suffering a slow start in the smartphone market. More competition is great news for the consumer though so we at Redmond Pie wish Microsoft the best of luck with its tablet strategy – just get something released already!
