If you happen to be an entirely addicted and overwhelmed Game of Thrones fan who has always wanted nothing more than to catapult yourself into the fictional world of Westeros then prepare to be overcome with absolute delight and sheer excitement. One diehard fan of the American fantasy drama, which of course, is set within the continents of Westeros and Essos, has taken the time to create a highly realistic-looking map of the continent of Westeros, based around an extremely familiar and aesthetically pleasing Google Maps style.
Redditor selvag is clearly a superfan of the popular TV series with just a little too much time to spare, as the highly detailed map shows. It’s certainly no secret that the Seven Kingdoms can be extremely difficult terrain to get to grips with, let alone navigate, but now thanks to this wonderful creation it should be made a little easier.
The Google Maps inspired creation is not only fantastic and insightful to look at but it’s also being sold as a premium quality poster via Etsy. Oh, and what’s more, the original creator claims that it’s entirely spoiler free so there’s no reason to not basque in its geeky glory.
Die hard fans of the show will be pleased to know that Reddit user selvag has actually put a great deal of effort into capturing the little details. The map is offered in high-resolution on thick, durable 192 g/m2 matte paper and contains pretty much every little town, castle and stronghold you can imagine. It also shows clearly marked mountains, forests and roads. If you want to know the location of The Land of Always Winter then this is the poster for you. If you want to plot a route from Cape Kraken to the Westerlands than the map has you covered, although you’ll need to find a satisfactory way of navigation The Sunset Sea and Ironman’s Bay.
The poster itself is a great little purchasable item that is hand-made to order on an individual basis, and if you’re a die-hard fan of the show then it should definitely be on your “to buy” list. With that said, don’t expect to use it to meticulously plan a road trip in Westeros as it doesn’t come with the ability to map out directions with turn-by-turn instructions. Check it out for yourself.
