watchOS 11 Upgrades Apple Watch Ultra Action Button With This Change

watchOS 11 has upgraded Apple Watch Ultra Action Button with a new change. Here’s what you need to know.

The latest Apple Watch software update, watchOS 11, brought a few new features to the mix including upgraded Smart Stacks and a new Vitals app. But there is one upgrade that is specific to the Apple Watch Ultra and Apple Watch Ultra 2, and it makes the Action button much better than it was previously.

The Action Button of course allows people to press a button on the side of the Apple Watch Ultra models and then have a specific app open or feature enabled, including the running of shortcuts. That makes it incredibly powerful, but the addition of a change with watchOS 11 changes things completely.

With watchOS 11 installed users of the Apple Watch Ultra and Apple Watch Ultra 2 can press and hold the Action button to display a list of each task, app, or feature that can be configured. That means that there is added capability here, ensuring that all options are available even after selecting one to be the primary feature.

However, this change hasn’t yet come to the iPhone 16 or iPhone 16 Pro, suggesting that it might be added as part of a future software update. Whether that will be iOS 19 or one before that, we will have to wait and see. However, given the fact that the iPhone requires a longer tap to initiate any action, it’s possible this tweak may never come to our phones at all.
