Apple has today released a new ad for its recently announced Powerbeats Pro earbuds. The Powerbeats Pro are a Beats branded version of the ever popular AirPods, but with a focus on fitness and all of the design decisions that you would expect given that fact.
That means that the Powerbeats Pro are sweat resistant and are decidedly more rugged, with hooks for keeping them in your ears.
Ear tips also mean that the Powerbeats Pro are a great option for anyone who found that AirPods simply refused to stay in their ears. As for the ad, it features multiple athletes and is scored by a new Beck single called “Saw Lightning.” The single was released alongside the ad, and is now available via Apple Music.
The ad follows the athletes as wear Powerbeats Pro while taking part in their sports. It’s part of an overall new “UNLEASHED” advertising campaign that is designed to highlight the Powerbeats Pro and everything that they offer.
While they were recently announced, the Powerbeats Pro aren’t yet available to buy. Instead, they’re expected to go on sale in May and will cost $250 when they do. We don’t know exactly when they’ll be available in the month of May, but we do know that multiple colors will be on offer.
What makes the Powerbeats Pro so compelling is the inclusion of the same H1 chip that powers Apple’s revamped AirPods, making for super-fast pairing and device switching. For many, Powerbeats Pro would be a better option compared to AirPods, while others will ideally want both. Given the costly nature of both, we don’t expect too many to take Apple up on that option.
