Today at 09 am PDT (Click here to see what time is it in your region), the superstar Michael Jackson will be buried at Forest Lawn Memorial in the Hollywood Hills. Their own private funeral will be held prior to the public event at Forest Lawn Memorial in the Hollywood Hills.
Remember AEG Live? the concert-promotion arm of AEG? Yes this is the same organization that had the contracts of 50 concerts in hand with Jackson prior to his untimely demise. Well its now hosting a musical memorial dedicated to the artist. Beyoncé and Whitney Houston, however, will be there as presenters but will not perform. Other stars all set to participate are:
• Brooke Shields
• Usher
• Stevie Wonder
• Magic Johnson
• Kobe Bryant
• Andrae Crouch Choir
• Berry Gordy
• Family friends Ron Boyd and Pastor Lucious Smith
• Shaheen Jafargholi of Britain’s Got Talent
• Martin Luther King III
• Bernice A. King
• John Mayer
• Lionel Richie
• Smokey Robinson
• Rev. Al Sharpton
According to reports – “lots and lots of family” will be coming — “We’re talking about 300 cousins and 40 grandkids and great grandkids and some of the old acts the Jackson 5 used to perform with, like the Chi-Lites will be there.”. On the contrary, Jackson’s ex-wife Debbie Rowe has decided that she will not attend the memorial as it would create too much chaos if she shows up. Likewise, Jacko pal Elizabeth Taylor also declined to participate. She tweeted: “I cannot be part of the public whoopla. And I cannot guarantee that I would be coherent to say a word. I just don’t believe that Michael would want me to share my grief with millions of others.
Do you want to catch this grand event even when you are far far way from Hollywood Hills? Luckily you can! And even more luckily you have a number of options to choose from. I can say with certainty that there must be an endless network and cable TV coverage. Alongside Facebook/CNN(partnership), MySpace, Hulu/Fox News(partenrship), Ustream/CBS News(Partnership), and others will live stream the event. Cendigm, a digital events company has also arranged to broadcast the event in 88 movie theaters — that would be enough for around 17,000 people. The theaters will be equipped with digital projection systems and satellite dishes.
Lets hope that all of us are able to celebrate his life together at this event. R.I.P Michael Jackson!
