Customization is an extremely big selling point when it comes to marketing any product or service. Consumers have a desire to be different and be unique by utilizing features that allow them to stand out from the “stock” crowd. This is definitely the case when it comes to smartphones, tablets, and even smart watches, as owners of these devices like to change and personalize as many areas as possible to make the device their own. Thanks to the new Watch Faces app, Apple Watch owners are now able to easily create custom wallpapers for their intelligent timepiece and make it as unique as their own personality.
The first thing that strikes you about the app is that it’s extremely “no nonsense”. It’s there to offer a specific level of functionality and it gets right down to doing that job from the offset.
Apple describes the Apple Watch as its “most personal product yet”, so it stands to reason that owners of the gorgeous wrist wear would want to have a dedicated app that plays on that sense of ownership and personalization by allowing a quick and easy method to build and utilize custom watch faces and wallpapers. Watch Faces seems to be that app.
The primary focus of this app by Nick Lauer, is that it affords users the ability to create beautiful watch faces for the Apple branded wearable. The application achieves this by offering a number of options for users to choose from, including the ability to directly search for existing watch faces that can then be selected and sent directly to the Apple Watch. Users are also granted the additional luxury of being able to take their own photographs from the device and turn them into custom watch faces through the app. It is all seamless, and extremely easy to do.
There’s also a number of lovely overlays available as an additional step that exist to accentuate the time and make certain areas of the interface pop out and be immediately visible. When the work of art has been created to your satisfaction, simply select the “Download” option to save the creation to your Camera Roll. The new wallpaper can then be selected and used directly on the Apple Watch.
You will obviously need to have your Apple Watch running watchOS 2 to be able to set custom photos as wallpapers on the watch face. If you haven’t update to watchOS 2 yet, you can follow our guide here to do so now: How To Install watchOS 2 Update On Apple Watch [Tutorial].
Watch Faces app is available from the iOS App Store right now for $1.99.
