The holiday shopping season is definitely fast approaching, and that can mean only one thing for keen-eyed technology fans out there who are partial to the odd bargain or two – price reductions galore. Like a number of other large retailers in the United States, Walmart will be starting their Black Friday price reductions at 8 PM on Thanksgiving Day; which is Thursday November 22nd for those who didn’t already know when to look out for the bargains.
Rather than digging around for the information, or rely on leaked word of mouth from internal sources, Walmart has taken the rather unusual step of burying the Black Friday advertisement behind other ad based sections on their website, leaving it up to the consumer to find it and see what reductions they can expect to find on Thanksgiving. Although it’s an unorthodox approach, the good news is that there seems to be a number of great bargains to be had.
Apple has recently launched the fourth-generation iPad as well as the smaller 7.9-inch iPad mini, but if you aren’t the type who needs to stay on top of the new releases and don’t mind being a couple of steps behind, then the deals will see the iPad 2 available for less than the cost of the current iPad mini model. The iPad 2 will be listed as $399 with a $75 gift card bundle, an inclusion that will take the price of the iPad down to a rather agreeable $324.
In addition to the iPad, Walmart will also be offering an LG Blu-ray player for a minuscule $38 that can be purchased alongside a 32-inch Emerson high-definition television set for $148. An iPad 2, Blu-ray player and high-definition TV for a total of $510 cannot be a bad deal in anyone’s eyes. Walmart seem to going all out to get the customer in on Black Friday by also offering a 1-hour stock guarantee for all of the reduced products that have just been mentioned.
Rather than missing out on the deals or having to get involved in in-store brawls to make sure you walk away with a bargain, Walmart is allowing the purchase of a guarantee card to ensure that customers receive the item they want at the reduced price before Christmas.
