The brand new Apple Watch Ultra will go on sale in just a matter of hours and while it comes with a number of bands that are specifically designed for it, Apple has already said that people can continue to use their existing 45mm and 44mm bands with it.
But realistically, how do they look and would anyone want to do it?
That’s a question that Swiss YouTuber Rafael Zeier set out to answer by taking an Apple Watch Ultra and pairing it with some of the most popular Apple Watch bands around. Those bands included the Steel Link, Leather Loop, and more. In fact, there was a total of 14 combinations used throughout the video and the results are surprisingly good. If you’ve been put off picking up an Apple Watch Ultra because it might not jive with your band collection, you probably needn’t have worried.
The new Apple Watch Ultra is built with working out and exploring in mind, so it’s designed to be bigger than any other Apple Watch. It’s a 49mm design, up from the previous max size of 45mm offered by the Apple Watch Series 8. That has its advantages, but some worry that it’s just too big. That ultimately might be something that we have to confirm ourselves by trying this thing on.
The Apple Watch Ultra comes with cellular connectivity and is priced at $799 no matter which band combination you choose.
