The iPhone 7 leaks are coming thick and fast right now, with today bringing not just one but two new glimpses at what it is claimed are iPhone 7 chassis.
The leaks, showing both photos and video of iPhone 7 shells, simultaneously corroborate and throw shade on existing claims of just what the iPhone 7 will bring to the table, so it’s arguable that we are still far from clear as to what will go on sale this September.
The most interesting of the two leaks is a video of a claimed iPhone 7, discovered via the Chinese website Weibo. The video, which runs just a few short seconds, shows what appears to be the rear panel of both a Space Gray and Silver iPhone 7.
Present in the shots are the now familiar antenna line redesign and a new, larger camera lens. The video itself is hard to validate at this point, and at 6-seconds long, it’s fair to say that just as many questions are raised in its wake as are answered. Coupled with the second of the two leaks, the video is the more interesting of the two.
Here’s the said video in question:
The second leak shows a selection of supposed iPhone 7 rear case holds, all of which, again, feature that telltale antenna redesign. What they don’t appear to show, however, is the new, darker Space Gray color that had been additionally rumored of late. Many had wondered whether the move to a darker, almost black chassis would rekindle some of the love seen for the iPhone 5 a few years ago.
Alongside the iPhone 4, the iPhone 5 and 5s are accepted to have been the best industrial designs to come out of Apple in a long time. The lack of a darker Space Gray model in this new leak doesn’t mean one isn’t coming, however, so bear that in mind before you get too downhearted.
