Upcoming iPhone 4 SE Could Have 8GB Of RAM For Apple Intelligence Support

Apple is expected to finally update the iPhone SE with a new model next year, and a new report suggests that it couldn’t get a RAM upgrade to help support an upcoming feature.

The iPhone SE 4 will reportedly double the RAM of the previous model from 4GB to 8GB, with the switch happening in order to allow the device to fully support Apple Intelligence.

The feature will ship in beta when iOS 18.1 arrives later this year, but the 8GB of RAM requirement will ensure that only the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max as well as the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro models will support it.

With that in mind, Bloomberg believes that the iPhone SE 4 will include support for Apple Intelligence which will mean that it will also ship with 8GB of RAM included.

The iPhone SE is expected to look similar to an iPhone 14 with Face ID support, a USB-C port, and an Action button alongside the A18 processor that will also make Apple Intelligence support possible. We don’t yet have any firm release information for when the device will ship, but it’s expected to have a 6.1-inch OLED display, a notable upgrade over the current models’ 4.7-inch LCD display.

However, all of this could see the iPhone SE 4 cost slightly more than the previous model, but we will have to wait for Apple to officially unveil the device before we can be sure.
