Pwn20wnd and team behind the popular unc0ver jailbreak has released a new version. The new update, version number 3.3.7, brings a raft of new improvements as well as fixes, too.
This new release focuses on improving performance, something that the developers were keen to note. When jailbreaking an iPhone with iOS 12.1.2 installed using previous versions of the tool, users would routinely have to wait anything up to six seconds. With version 3.3.7, not only is that time is reduced to just a couple of seconds, but also increases the “reliability of the Sock Port kernel exploit on 4K devices”.
Overall performance and stability is also improved with this new release, something that will be well received by those who have suffered with previous unc0ver reliability issues. However, if you own a device that was previously jailbroken, you will need to use the latest version in order to enjoy the improvements.
07/19/2019 – v3.3.7 was released for production with the following changes:
- Improve the reliability of the Sock Port kernel exploit on 4K devices
After initially releasing version 3.3.1, the team updated that to version 3.3.2 followed by incremental updates till version 3.3.7 to correct an issue relating to kernel offsets in iOS 11 on different iOS devices and add support for 4K devices.
The new version can be downloaded and updated on devices via Cydia Impactor. Users are then recommended to re-jailbreak their devices in order to enjoy the fixes and improvements that have been added to this release.
As ever, jailbreaking does come with its own risks that should be understood before taking the plunge. If you’re keen to enjoy all the benefits that come with opening your device up, however, this is the best release of the unc0ver jailbreak yet to be released.
