Truecaller has announced a new AI-powered call recording feature that is rolling out to its users across both Android and iPhone, so long as you’re in the United States.
The feature builds on existing call recording functionality and records both sides of the call.
But far from just creating an audio recording, Truecaller’s new feature also uses a Large Language Model technology to create a transcription of the call including a brief summary.
The new feature records both sides of the call with high clarity and provides summarized transcriptions of all call recordings, turning the call recording into text that is easy to navigate. Each transcription will come with a brief subject line that makes it easier to quickly and accurately search within these transcriptions using Large Language Model (LLM) technology.
Truecaller can record both inbound and outbound calls, while recordings can be saved to iCloud on an iPhone and compatible cloud storage on Android. All recordings are stored locally on the users’ devices by default, however.
Recording calls is a great way to make sure that you never forget what was said, especially when you can’t reliably take notes. Recording a call is quick and easy, no matter whether you’re using Android or an iPhone. This is a Premium feature, however, so you’ll need to be a paying customer to use it.
Truecaller’s new features launch is now only in the US and expected to roll out for other countries in the near future.
