This week’s free iOS app from Apple as part of its Free App of the Week initiative is mainly aimed at kids. The title, which usually retails for $2.99 on the App Store, steps away from the usual gaming genre by offering a truly creative experience for the young minds.
Called Toca Kitchen 2, the app puts users in the shoes of an aspiring chef looking to cook for some hungry guests. They are given kitchen utensils and food ingredients to use and the best part is that they are allowed to experiment all they want to show their cooking skills.
Who said dishes have to be pretty and tasty? In Toca Kitchen 2 you can cook however you want! Juice tomatoes, boil the salad or make a burger. Come up with your very own recipes and treat your guests to something special.
Toca Kitchen 2 is no Master Chef, but that is exactly the point of this title. The food cooked for the guests also gets rated by them with different reactions, depending on how good or bad the cooked food is.
Toca Kitchen 2 has also got an update since it first came out. The new version adds stronger guest reactions to bring more craziness and life to the game. The fridge and cabinets have also been loaded up with new ingredients and utensils to give experimentation more range.
According to the developer, the entire point of this particular title is to reinforce a child’s creativity and imagination:
We make digital toys and games that help stimulate the imagination, and that you can play together with your kids. Best of all – we do it in a safe way without third-party advertising or in-app purchases.
If you have kids in the house who flock to your iPad or iPhone looking for games, downloading Toca Kitchen 2 while it’s free will definitely be a worthwhile move. The free offer will last till next Thursday so act fast.
