Tim Cook Says Apple Donated 10 Million Respirators To Health Workers In The US, More In The EU

Apple CEO Tim Cook has taken to Twitter to share the news that Apple has “sourced and procured” ten million ventilator masks that will be distributed to those who are working to help combat the coronavirus pandemic.

A shortage of masks has been an issue for many countries, and Cook says that his teams have been able to help.

Cook also shared a video in which he asked everyone to remain at home, just as he is. The video was filmed in his home office as he asked people to “stay at home whenever possible” as the world attempts to slow the spread of coronavirus.

Cook, like so many people around the globe, has taken to working from home following the closure of his usual place of work. Apple Park is currently out of commission, with Apple also closing all of its Apple Stores outside of Greater China. The hope is that by preventing people from congregating at stores, we can also slow the spread of a virus that is transmitted very easily indeed.

Cook and Apple have been at the forefront of decisions like this, and it is clearly helping health professionals in any way that it can. That’s probably the kind of thing you can do when you have more money in the bank than Scrooge McDuck!
