Tim Cook Joins Big Tech Leaders In Supporting Trump’s Inauguration With $1M Donation

Apple CEO Tim Cook is making headlines as one of several big tech leaders donating to President-elect Donald Trump’s upcoming inauguration.

According to Axios, Cook will personally contribute $1 million to Trump’s inaugural committee, joining executives from other tech giants and major corporations.

Cook is not alone in the tech world’s support for the event. Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg, Google’s Sundar Pichai, and OpenAI’s Sam Altman are among those who have either met with Trump or contributed to his inauguration fund.

Companies like Amazon, Uber, and other industry giants have also pitched in $1 million each. Beyond Silicon Valley, businesses such as Ford, Toyota, Goldman Sachs, and Coinbase are collectively donating millions.

Sources indicate Cook’s decision is rooted in his belief that the presidential inauguration is a unifying American tradition. While Apple itself is not expected to donate, Cook’s personal contribution reflects his focus on fostering dialogue and unity. This isn’t Cook’s first interaction with Trump—he previously met with the President-elect at Mar-a-Lago in Florida, where Tesla CEO Elon Musk was also in attendance.

During Trump’s first term, Cook maintained a working relationship with the administration, earning praise from the President on several occasions. In October, the two reportedly discussed Apple’s ongoing challenges with the European Union, with Trump assuring Cook that he wouldn’t let the EU “take advantage” of American companies.

As Trump prepares for his second term, it seems many tech leaders are following Cook’s lead, aiming to maintain open lines of communication with the administration.
