Here’s how you can control your Samsung TV right from the Notification Center on your iPhone. Complete details and download link can be found right here after the break.
The exponential rise and development in consumer technology means that we can now carry around our entire digital life housed inside one extremely powerful smartphone. We have refrigerators that can monitor stock levels of produce and provide warnings when things are running out. We have wrist wear that can track our every move and provide real-time health and wellbeing advice, and now, thanks to the JustABlip iPhone app, we have a lightweight installation that will allow us to control a Samsung TV set directly from the Notification Center section of iOS. Truly a remarkable time to be alive.
You may be wondering to yourself why you would actually need a smartphone app that can control your Samsung TV when the company itself provides you with an extremely functional remote control as part of the purchase price. Let’s be honest, that’s an extremely valid question. With that said, the majority of us will sit and play with our iPhones while watching the TV so there’s an immediate convenience factor with JustABlip. In addition to being convenient, JustABlip also introduces a number of little features that wouldn’t otherwise be possible, such as being able to name inputs assigned to various ports on the television set. No longer will you need to think about which HDMI port has the PlayStation or Apple TV plugged into it.
The JustABlip Notification Center widget also comes with a certain level of customization, allowing users to set it up exactly as they wish it feels easier for them. Arguably one of the best features, and certainly one that would hugely appeal to myself if I was the owner of a Samsung TV, is the ability to set up and name a list of favorite TV channels. This then allows an extremely simple one touch access to that channel. Convenience is once again the key factor.
Compatibility is extended to the Samsung C, D, E and F series, manufactured from 2010 – 2013. The latest 2014 H-series is not currently supported by JustABlip.
