There have been plenty of rumors of late that suggest Apple will add a new iPhone Ultra atop the existing iPhone, iPhone Plus, iPhone Pro, and iPhone Pro Max models as soon as 2023.
Now a new concept imagines what that might look like borrowing from the Apple Watch Ultra’s design language.
The Apple Watch Ultra is a touch, chunky, and titanium version of the Apple Watch that has a very different aesthetic from the Apple Watch Series 8. This concept by Jonas Daehnert is similar in that it builds on the iPhone shape we know but also makes it look more like an Apple Watch Ultra.
That includes a thicker chassis that’s at least 12mm thick, while the volume and power buttons produce slightly and are surrounded by bumps similar to the Digital Crown guard on the Apple Watch Ultra.
We also get to see another part of the Apple Watch Ultra make the jump over — a dedicated Action button. That would theoretically allow users to program it to do almost anything thanks to Shortcuts support.
At the bottom of the phone, we find the usual speaker grills and of course a USB-C port. That port has a gorgeous International Orange accent to match the Action button.
All things considered, we’re huge fans of this concept. It’s unlikely to be anything like the iPhone Ultra that ships, but we do kind of wish this is would be what Apple ships eventually.
