If you’ve always liked the idea of creating your own melodic mixes but haven’t had the time, means, inclination or skill to do so, you may wish to check out a great little app for iOS by the name of Crossfader.
Crossfader’s full name is actually Crossfader: Move and Mix, and as the name implies, it’s a DJ app with, quite literally, a great twist. In fact, there are quite a few twists involved in using Crossfader, and the more you do, the more varied the sound becomes. Read on for more.
Using your device’s gyroscope, it encourages you to get up and dance, and as you move around, you can notice certain effects being applied to your music. This creates truly unique mixes which can easily be shared via SoundCloud, and if you have ever had trouble keeping your dance moves in time to the music, one suspects you won’t be having them anymore!
The interface is as funky as the idea of the app itself, and provided you own a device with a gyroscope, you too can enjoy this very enjoyable app. It is optimized for the iPhone 5 and iPhone 4S, and does require the latest and greatest iOS 6 in order to run.
Having tried a number of DJ apps in the past, I have seen just how powerful and feature-rich they can be. However, whilst I wouldn’t categorize Crossfader among the elite, its efforts to combine music with dance and enjoyment certainly make it worth checking out.
To cap it all off, Crossfader is absolutely free of charge for a limited time, so you won’t even have to part with any of your hard-earned cash if you wish to turn yourself into a DJ. Grab it right now from the link below, or fire up the App Store app on your iOS device and search for it in there.
Oh, and be sure to leave your thoughts and opinions via the usual mediums below – it’s always good to hear your opinions and thoughts!
