Although an all-singing, all-dancing DSLR will still comfortably exceed the limitations of your smartphone’s lens for features and functionality, it’s fair to say that our handset’s cameras have improved significantly over the past couple of years. Apple always endeavors to improve the photo and video-capturing credentials of the iPhone with each new release, and despite its age, the iPhone 5s remains among the most competent on the market. With this in mind, one developer has come through with a unique, exciting app that takes full advantage of the iPhone’s video-taking capabilities by letting you organize and shoot from up to four different iPhones in one, and with some neat editing features besides, it’s one of the best apps we’ve seen in this category.
The App Store is the richest portal for software on the planet, and given the rise of Instagram, photo and video taking / editing / sharing apps are ten a penny. As such, any dev looking to make headway in this particular genre must come up with something niche, and Fly, by Fly Labs, is a very clever app that allows you to capture an event from multiple angles and perspectives.
If you and your friends want, for example, to create your own professional-esque video in shooting a subject or event from different angles, you can do with absolute ease. Or if you want to create your own video diary of a trip, you can do that too, since Fly lets you shoot videos or import from your Camera Roll.
The fact that you can involve more than one iPhone would be its clinching feature, but the fact is, editing is as seamless and delightful as you’re likely to find in any video-centric app. The thing about Fly that really strikes me is that, even though the process is simple – you can cut out videos and move around scenes at will – the finished product is a well-polished creation that seems as though it could, and perhaps have taken a lot more time to curate.
Videos created can be up to five minutes long, you can select from an abundance of pre-made transitions, and even add your own voice-over and music for a truly accomplished clip. Given that it’s also free, we’d definitely recommend checking it out, so click the direct link below and get shooting!
