Our smartphones and tablets are not only useful forms of communication, productivity and reference, but they also make for great entertainment devices, and as such, the likes of the Google Play Store and iTunes App Store are awash with some awesome titles. For a limited time, an immensely popular puzzler for iOS has gone completely free of charge, and if you’re looking for a challenging title with effortless pick-up-and-play-ability, then check the details below.
Usually costing $2.99, Duet Game is one of many puzzle games that has sought to bring something new to the table. In a market filled with dupes, it offers a relatively unique experience, and while it’s easy enough to learn how to play – the aim is, after all, simply to "avoid everything" – it can get quite frustrating as you move through the levels.
To elaborate on the concept, your mission is to protect two perfectly-synced orbs from an array of falling objects by twisting them on a pivot, and with a minimalist design and calming music, it bears the hallmarks of a relaxed, enchanting experience akin to the popular Osmos title.
In some respects, it is, but as I say, it’s quite unforgiving at times, and the frustration can quickly set in after a few failures. As you advance, you may begin to question your sanity, but if you manage to stick it out, finding a way through the barrage of blocks will begin to feel quite rewarding.
Having been around for quite a while now, Duet Game has hovered around that $2.99 price point since its inception, so here’s your chance to grab a real bargain. Offered as part of Apple’s Free App of the Week, it’s only ever been free once before, and if you like those titles that really test your mettle, then check that download link below.
Oh, and if you do happen to give Duet Game a whirl on your mighty iPhone or iPad, then be sure to leave your thoughts and comments with us via the usual channels!
