As those of you reliant on your smartphones on a daily basis will surely vouch, battery life is probably the most important commodity. Although devices can offer a grand pallet of tasty features, without the power keeping the turbines ticking over, they’re essentially useless.
Thus, battery conservation is fairly big business in the world of app development, and any new idea on how a user can save even a little extra juice here and there is certainly an avenue worth exploring.
Well, although TEAM BatteryBar by pvyParts doesn’t exactly offer any additional help to the battery retention fund per se, it does present a constant estimation of how much battery is left in the tank – which may prompt you to think twice before loading that last, 15 minute 1080p extended movie trailer at full volume and brightness.
MIUI users will undoubtedly be familiar with the look of the implementation, which turns the bottom or top strip of your device into a progress bar indicating remaining battery. It’s highly customizable and extremely unobtrusive – you can finish it with whichever colors you prefer.

The full version is paid, and will set you back $2.50. As is the case with nearly all Android apps, however, there is a trial version allowing you to test it’s worth before waving your wallet.
The best way – I find – to conserve battery, is to constantly ensure you don’t run any unnecessary connections. Wi-Fi and cellular data accounts for a sizeable chunk of your total battery depletion, so always ensure that if you don’t use it, then lose it before you lose battery.
