There’s Now A Way To Get 200GB Free iCloud Storage For 2 Months, Here’s How

Apple is seemingly working in partnership with the major U.S. networks and carriers to offer 2 months free access to its 200GB iCloud tier entirely free-of-charge. The deal is available to those upgrading their iPhone plans is only applicable to new iCloud subscribers.

There doesn’t seem to be a great deal of information available about the deal but it appears to be offered to those individuals who have upgraded their iPhone plans with networks like Verizon, Sprint, and AT&T. If an individual decides to take Apple up on the offer, then they will be awarded 2 months free access to the popular 200GB iCloud tier, which offers a saving of $5.98.

Once that 2 months trial has ended, it works in an auto-renew style subscription meaning that it will automatically roll over into a chargeable access to that plan at the cost of $2.99 per month.

The deal is also being offered only to those who don’t currently subscribe to iCloud with their Apple ID and is therefore only applicable to brand new iCloud users. From Apple’s perspective, it seems that the goal here is to entice users into subscribing to the 200GB two-month free trial option, hoping that they upload a lot of data and photographs to iCloud within that two months, and then realize that if they don’t continue to pay after the trial has ended then they won’t be able to continue utilizing that much cloud-based storage directly from their iPhones or other Apple devices.

Given that Apple already offers a single month of iCloud free for those who upgrade their package, this deal isn’t exactly earth-shattering and really only represents a $2.99 saving for those who were intending to move to the use of iCloud anyway.

However, a deal is a deal, and a saving is a saving, so it’s definitely worth taking advantage of if you intend to store data in iCloud. Apple has previously been lambasted by iPhone and iPad owners for being too tight as far as iCloud storage is concerned and will likely come under criticism for this promotion. However, free storage is free storage.

If you think you are eligible and want to try and take advantage of it, you can find the offer over at redeem.apple.com/sprint.
