There’s Now A Microsoft Copilot App For Your Mac

If you’re tired of Apple Intelligence not quite managing to do what you ask of it, Microsoft is ready to help after the company announced the launch of a Copilot app for the Mac.

The new app is available for those who want to use Microsoft’s generative AI software that is built on the OpenAI technology that also powers ChatGPT.

It works in a similar way, as you might expect, and it offers the ability to have questions answered, research to be carried out, and more.

Your AI companion is now available on macOS. You can upload images, generate images and text, use the shortcut launcher, dark mode, and try Think Deeper. Microsoft Copilot is the AI companion for everyday life. Talking with Copilot is an easy way to learn, grow and gain confidence, all with the help of OpenAI and Microsoft AI models.

The Copilot app is free to download while the Copilot service itself has both free and paid-for tiers. The latter costs $20 per month and means you’ll get access to the newest and most capable AI models.

The app itself requires that you have an Apple Silicon Mac, so those with older Intel machines are unfortunately left in the cold here. You also need to be running macOS 10.4 or later.
