As you’ll be very much aware if you’re a regular reader of ours, iOS apps seem to go free on a regular basis. But whilst we do our utmost to pick the best of the bunch, it’s very rare that an immensely popular application drops its price tag completely. Yet one of our all-time favorite apps has just done exactly that, and if you like a bargain – as well as the idea of using your device as a makeshift scanner – then we’ve the full details and download link for this freebie after the leap.
The days of paper, photocopiers and traditional notebooks may soon be distant memories, but while it’s easy to print off a paper copy of a digital document, it’s not so simple in reverse. Whereas folk would once have to use bulky scanners and computers to digitize their files, though, the age of the smartphone has made it rather easy to do so with very little effort and even less bulk.
See, where mobile screens and, in particular, cameras have improved, folk can now readily take pictures of documents as and when they need to store them, and with a number of apps ready and waiting to help you crop, resize and adjust your imperfect photo to something a little more uniform and manageable, many opt to harness the powers of their pocket scanners.
Scanbot – usually $1.99 – is one such app, and not only is it one of our personal favorites, but it’s also favored by a large group of individuals that wish to turn their iPhones and iPads into scanning gadgets. With a range of editing features and effortless sync with most of the major cloud services, Scanbot is the archetypal all-in-one, and now, it’s completely free of charge.
To scan documents using Scanbot, you needn’t pay a penny, and although the App Store is now awash with such apps, this is widely considered to be the authority. It sports a nice interface, most of the features you’d ever need of a scanner, and at a price of zero dollars, is a must-download.
