The Midrange OnePlus Nord Is Official With A 90Hz Display, 5G, Dual Selfie Cameras, More

We’ve been seeing teasers for a budget OnePlus phone in recent days and weeks and today saw the device officially announced. Sure, it won’t be coming to the United States or Canada, but those in Europe are in luck – because this thing looks pretty swell.

Starting at just $379, or around $480 if we’re doing quick and dirty conversions, the new phone borrows heavily from the OnePlus 8 while keeping the price decidedly low.

That doesn’t mean the features have been stripped, though. There’s still a 6.44-inch 1080p OLED panel that’s capable of an impressive 90Hz refresh rate. There’s 5G as well, although those wanting mmWave will be disappointed.

Charging is taken care of by the fast Warp Charge 30T tech as well, so you won’t be waiting for this thing to power up.

In terms of cameras, OnePlus has added the same 48-megapixel sensor from the OnePlus 8, although the processor has seen a downgrade to help with the price – although a Snapdragon 765G should still keep things ticking along nicely.

Around the back, we’ll find a collection of four cameras in the form of that 48-megapixel main camera, an 8-megapixel ultra wide-angle option, a 2-megapixel macro shooter, and a 5-megapixel depth sensor.

Buyers will be able to choose between blue and gray colors with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage on offer for £379 and €399. Or you can upgrade to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage for £469 and €499, if you prefer.

As for the United States, OnePlus did offer a crumb of comfort saying there’s the potential for a launch at some point in the future.
