When Apple ships the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max next month the two phones will no longer come in the gold finish that we’re all so familiar with, according to a new report. The handsets will get two new colors, however, while the iPhone 14 Pro’s Deep Purple was already expected to disappear.
The news comes after 9to5Mac shared details from their sources that claim Apple will ditch gold in favor of a new gray color that will apparently show off the titanium construction of the new premium models.
In place of gold, Apple will lean in on the new titanium finish. In addition to space black and silver, Apple will offer a new gray option that embraces the natural color of titanium.
As well as fans of gold, those who were hoping for the rumored dark red iPhone 15 Pro are also in for some bad news — the report claims that it won’t happen after all and that a new dark blue will take its place.
We also believe Apple will promote a new dark blue color for the titanium iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. This will be the special color of the year, replacing deep purple, and not the crimson color that we previously heard.
The result will be that the new Pro iPhones will come in silver, gray, dark blue, and black which means that buyers are effectively choosing from different shades of gray.
We’ll get confirmation of all of this when the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro devices are announced next month, likely on September 12 or September 13.
