The Apple TV+ Formula 1 Movie Finally Has A Name And You’ll Never Guess What It Is

We’d known for some time now that Apple TV+ was working on a new movie starring Bradd Pitt and set in the world of Formula 1. But we didn’t know what it would be called.

Now, we do, and the news doesn’t come as that much of a surprise: the new movie will be called, simply, F1.

The news was confirmed via a post to the X social network by the Apple Original Films account and confirmed that the movie will get its first sneak peek during the Formula 1 British Grand Prix this weekend.

The movie will not only star Pitt but is also being made in collaboration with Formula F1 world champion Lewis Hamilton.

Starring Brad Pitt as a former driver who returns to Formula 1, alongside Damson Idris as his teammate at APXGP, a fictional team on the grid, the feature has been shot during actual Grand Prix weekends as the team competes against the titans of the sport. The star-studded cast also includes Academy Award nominee Kerry Condon, Academy Award winner Javier Bardem, Emmy Award winner and Golden Globe Award nominee Tobias Menzies, Sarah Niles, Kim Bodnia and Samson Kayo.

F1 will be directed by Joseph Kosinski of Top Gun: Maverick fame while Jerry Bruckheimer and Chad Oman of Jerry Bruckheimer Films will also be involved in the production. As for when we’ll be able to enjoy the movie, F1 will be released in theaters globally on June 27, 2025.
