Tesla’s Powershare Mobile Connector Leaks

If you’ve been waiting to get a first look at Tesla’s Powershare Mobile Connector, you’re in luck because it has now leaked to the world — and it did it via Tesla itself.

The leak came after the connector appeared in a user manual and gives us our first look at what we can expect from such a thing.

Tesla announced the Powershare bidirectional charging system alongside the launch of the Cybertruck and it will allow Tesla vehicles to share their battery power with other vehicles as well as homes and appliances. The company says that Powerwall owners already have the hardware that is needed to make this work, but the Universal Wall Connector can be bought for $595 while the Gateway component costs $1,800.

Now we have an indication of a special mobile connector that will be offered, although the manual doesn’t give any information beyond what the new accessory will look like.

It’s important to note that the accessory also isn’t available to be bought on Tesla’s website just yet, and there are still plenty of questions surrounding it.

It’s also to be noted that “the design of the charger is definitely different from Tesla’s regular mobile connector, but other than the design, the user manual doesn’t explain what’s different with the ‘Powershare’ version.” With that in mind, we’ll have to wait for more official information before we can be sure what to expect.
