Buying a new Tesla Model S or Model X could mean getting some new tweaks according to a new report. Changes include an updated wheel, ambient lighting, and more.
The Model S and Model X will gain updated “efficiency” packages in 2024 according to references found in the 2023.44.30.8 vehicle firmware with tweaks that could be made to the EV’s battery or drivetrain.
However, it’s noted by Not a Tesla App that these tweaks might not necessarily make the EV more efficient in terms of drivers getting more miles out of them.
Other changes include a new wheel that will feature a mechanical horn at its center, while ambient lighting is also touted for addition to the Model S and Model X after proving popular in the Model 3 and recently released Cybertruck. A new front camera is also on the horizon, according to the report.
The front camera is also featured in the Cybertruck and will undoubtedly be added to the rest of the fleet. The camera removes the blind spot just in front of the car for those tight parking spaces and has been a welcome addition after removing other sensors. Our source previously confirmed that the front bumper camera will also be arriving on the Model S and X. Could it be tied to these additional updates?
There is currently no telling when we should expect any of these tweaks to appear and more details about what they will mean for new EV owners will surely come at a later date.
