Tesla’s CCS Adapter Is Now Cheaper At $175

Tesla has reduced the price of its CCS charging adapter to just $175, a notable reduction from the previous price of $250.

The price drop, reported by Electrek, hasn’t actually been advertised by Tesla but it’s definitely kicked in. The price has also been reduced in Canada, falling from $340 to $240 in the process.

Expand your fast charging options with the Tesla CCS Combo 1 Adapter. The adapter offers charging speeds up to 250kW and can be used at third-party charging networks.

However, price cut or not the adapter isn’t something that everyone can use. Some cars made before 2020 require a retrofit by Tesla, which the company offered but hasn’t actually started to carry out at the time of writing.

Tesla continues to tell customers to “check back in early 2023” for more information on the availability of that retrofit. As for the CCS adapter itself, Tesla says that buyers will have to wait for it to arrive. The company says that the adapter will ship within two weeks of order suggesting that there isn’t likely to be a quick delivery.

Buyers who had considered picking a CCS adapter up should probably act now while they can. Tesla had previously reduced the price on these adapters briefly before putting them back up.
