We reported on Tesla updating its iOS app recently with support for iOS 18 Control Center toggles, and as it turns out, this app contains code references that points to even more features coming for Apple users.
Tesla iOS app code references that point towards Tesla working on an Apple Watch app comes from folks over at Tesla App Updates, and it contains at least three “watch” references.
These references in the Tesla iOS app’s code are as follows:
watch_app_pairing_state_remotely_signing_add_key_command
watch_app_ble_peripheral
watch_app_no_product_selected
While there are a ton of third-party Apple Watch apps on the App Store that make use of Tesla’a API to achieve this, a first-party app from Tesla will be a welcome change, especially given it will be free, unlike most of the third-party apps which cost monthly subscription to provide this functionality.
It’s important to note that Tesla CEO Elon Musk already hinted towards an Apple Watch app coming for Tesla users earlier this year, and today’s findings only gives more authenticity to that claim.
It seems like it’s only a matter of time before such an app is made available for both Tesla and Apple Watch users. Will will of course let you know whenever the update is actually live. Stay tuned for more.
