Tesla To Unveil $25,000 Model 3 EV On March 31st

As interest grows in Tesla’s first “affordable” electric car, it was confirmed during the company’s earnings call today that the Model 3 car is all set to be officially unveiled at an event on March 31st, which works well with our earlier posts informing you that March should be a big month for Tesla. That’s now guaranteed.

Those wanting to get their hands on a new Tesla Model 3 will have to wait a little though, with the car apparently on track to begin shipping at some point in 2017, which if we’re honest feels like a hell of a way away. Maybe we’re just all a little too impatient.

Expected to cost no more than $35,000 and in reality quite a bit less, around $25,000, when the deduction of tax breaks associated with driving an electric car are subtracted, the Model 3 is the cheapest Tesla to ever be made, and is one that the company will help bridge the gap currently left wide open. Electric cars are often expensive even for the less popular brand names, but $35,000 or less for a Tesla has to be appealing to many. It certainly is to us.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk had previously teased that March would be the month in which the Tesla Model 3 was to be outed, but as with all things in life we didn’t quite believe it until we saw proof. With Tesla announcing the news at its earnings call today however, we’re pretty happy to say that proof has been well and truly…proven.

At least with 2017 set to be in full swing before the Tesla Model 3 is ready to drive its way into peoples’ garages, it gives us all some time to save a little money. Well OK, a lot of money. but less than it takes right now to get that Tesla badge on your keyring.
