Tesla has slashed the price of some of its electric vehicles in the United States, with discounts of up to $5,000 now in place depending on the model and configuration chosen.
Those discounts range from around 2% to 6% according to an InsideEVs report, and amount to the fifth time that Tesla has made its vehicles cheaper since the turn of the year.
As part of the new price cuts it appears that Tesla has added a new base model to the Model Y range which is now priced at $51,630 (including $1,390 shipping.)
It’s also worth noting that the Model Y is eligible for up to $7,500 in federal tax incentives — something that Tesla is also quick to point out on its own website.
There are also price adjustments for the Model 3, notes IndsideEVs.
The base Model 3 RWD now starts at $43,630, while the Model 3 Performance is priced from $54,630 (both including $1,390 shipping). The LFP battery-powered Model 3 RWD qualifies for up to $3,750 in tax credits starting April 18, while the Model 3 Performance is eligible for the full $7,500.
It doesn’t stop there, either. The base Model S is now $5,000 cheaper and starts at $86,630. The Model X is also $5,000 cheaper and now starts at $96,630.
If you’re planning on picking up a new Tesla, now might well be the time to do it if you live in the United States. Having said that, these things could even get cheaper if you wait a little while at this rate.
