Yesterday saw Tesla hold its annual investor day and the company, among other things, showed off a “pre-production beta Cybertruck” and some people even managed to get inside it.
Tesla is expected to begin shipping Cybertrucks in limited quantities later this year, with mass shipments taking place in 2024 — assuming there are no further delays.
Now, Tesla has provided one for people to look at.
Electrek reports that Tesla has a fleet of these beta Crybetrucks available for testing, with more and more of them starting to be spotted on the roads of California. Tesla Daily was able to share video of the beta Cybertruck on YouTube, giving us a rare close look at it.
The most notable feature appears to be the removal of the yoke steering wheel. The replacement isn’t round as such, but it’s flat on the top and bottom. It’s also thought that the center console has changed as well, with a bigger look that’s hard to really confirm from what we’ve seen.
Whatever we see here is liable to change, of course. This is a beta vehicle for a reason and it’s possible that Telsa will continue to tweak things before the final version is ready for mass production. Tesla still hasn’t told buyers how much they’ll pay or what specifications will be offered, but we cane expect that to happen soon as we get closer to the things starting to be built.
