Tesla has today announced a new Model 3 Performance option with improved performance and better specs including improvements inside the cabin, too.
The new version of the Model 3 will support a 0-60mph time of 2.9 seconds as well as a 163 mph top speed, Tesla confirmed in a post on the X social network.
A 510 hp rating with 741 Nm of torque was also confirmed. Tesla says that the new Performance 4th-gen drive unit can deliver 22% more continuous power and 32% more peak power as well as 16% more peak torque.
Other notable improvements include new 20-inch wheels and Pirelli P Zero 4 tires with improved traction and more. There’s also a Track Mode V3 upgrade which “integrates motor controls, suspension controls, powertrain cooling, & our Vehicle Dynamics Controller (VDC) under a single, unified system.” The improvements continue with a new adaptive damping system.
The new Model 3 Performance also boasts 5% less drag and 36% lift reduction as well as the new sports seats for improved comfort during cornering. Other notable facts include a 296-mile range, a reduction of around 50 miles from the normal Model 3 which we can likely blame on those huge wheels, among other things.
