Tesla Has Increased Model 3 And Model Y Prices Yet Again

Tesla has increased the amount of money you’ll have to spend to get your hands on a Model 3 or Model Y again, marking the seventh price increase of the year. We’re only in July!

Tesla does tend to increase the prices of its cars as parts and whatnot cost more money in an attempt to protect its margins, but things are beginning to get a bit silly — no matter which way you look at it.

In terms of what’s changing, a Model Y Long Range Dual Motor car will now cost $1,000 more than it did yesterday. That means a US Model Y will cost $4,000 more than it did a few months ago — $54,000.

In the Model 3 world, the Model 3 Long Range AWD version has seen a $1,000 price increase. Customers will now pay just shy of $50,000 to get into one of those cars, while the other models all remain the same. At least for now.

Don’t expect to be getting your car soon, no matter how much you pay. Model 3 delivery delays are currently sat at anything up to 16 weeks, as Electrek points out.

Previous price increases have been due to the increased costs of buying the parts needed to build Tesla’s vehicles. It hasn’t been confirmed yet whether that’s the case this time around, too.
