As you may already know, Tesla’s recently launched Cybertruck features a dedicated 240-volt outlet in the bed of the vehicle, which can power many different things, including other EVs.
And now, we have our first spotting of a Cybertruck charging another vehicle – a Rivian R1S in this instance – after the latter was found to be stuck when a CCS charging station failed to charge the vehicle.
The above photo and story was shared by Kitty Adams Hoksbergen on LinkedIn. The photo itself though came from the owner of Rivian R1S himself.
My neighbor shared this picture with me. He got an emergency charge on his Rivian #R1S by a Tesla #cybertruck on a road trip with his family. He is too pissed off at the moment to tell me the story, but I can bet he was stranded by an unreliable, third party #CCS.
While this might be one of the first instance of Cybertruck charging another vehicle in the wild, it certainly won’t be the last as more and more of these Tesla trucks make their way out to public, we will see many people using this feature to charge fellow EV owners whenever they are in need of a emergency charge.
Tesla is currently busy with deliveries of recently launched Cybertruck in the United States. There’s no word yet on when will Tesla bring Cybetruck to other countries around the world.
