Tesla’s new Holiday Update has added a number of new features that people have been crying out for. But there’s one that some might have not seen coming — Tesla drivers can now play Steam games in their cars.
The Steam integration means that Model S and Model X drivers can now play thousands of games on their car’s big screens including Cyberpunk 2077 and Elden Ring.
Tesla has already been working to get games running on its cars’ powerful computers and Steam integration is the latest addition.
Tela CEO Elon Musk had previously said that he would release a demo of the Steam integration back in August but that never happened, leaving some to wonder if there were problems and things weren’t quite ready to go. However, it now seems likely that Musk was simply moving into Twitter mode because the feature is now available.
However, it should be noted that the Steam integration is currently listed as a beta feature which means it probably isn’t quite ready just yet. Expect there to be problems here and there, but a video shared by Tesla does definitely show the games working and tied to a PS5 DualSense controller no less.
Tesla’s built-in computer compares well with modern gaming consoles which should ensure a solid gaming experience, and in some cases it betters some gaming PCs as well.
