If you happen to be one of the few people who own a Windows Phone device, and are longing to be whisked back to 2010, then the release of the Talking Tom Cat app for Microsoft’s mobile OS is probably just the news you have been waiting for. If however, you are familiar with the same app from iOS and Android, and quickly got bored of the loveably little kitty, then this will hardly be an earth shattering experience whatsoever.
We have no idea why it took so long to bring the talking feline to the Windows Phone Marketplace, or even if the release came from users actually requesting the port, the good news is; the app is now live and is available to download for free for all devices running Windows Phone 7.5 or above.
We all know that pets can be an important part of our lives, but if you find yourself away from home a lot and are unable to keep a real kitten, or just want something to talk to on those lonely train rides, then Talking Tom Cat app might just be right for you.
After downloading, the smiling green-eyed cat jumps into life on the device’s screen waiting for human interaction and some attention. Users can interact with the virtual pet by talking directly to Tom – who in turn listens to you in delight – as he repeats every word you say in his own unique voice. If verbal communication doesn’t happen to be your thing, then Tom will be equally happy with a little tickle to his head or body.
As a responsible virtual pet owner, don’t forget to pour out some delicious ice cold milk for him to devour, and whatever you do, don’t leave him running in the foreground on your device and ignore him or he will get agitated and start yawning or sneezing. If all of that sound like the perfect hallmarks of an app for you, then you are prepared to let Mr. Kitty have access to your data services, microphone, music and video library, as well as the device identity tags, then you are onto a winner.
