The Microsoft Xbox One, which released towards the latter stages of last year, already boasts a sizeable catalog titles. But while those rocking the old Xbox 360 cannot enjoy the cutting-edge graphics offered by the latest machine, the range of games is much broader, and naturally, many gaming fans have appealed for Microsoft to introduce backwards compatibility with those old 360 games. Apparently, partner development lead Frank Savage suggested at last week's BUILD that the idea of an Xbox 360 emulator is not out of the question, although it remains unclear as to if, when or how such a feature would be achieved.
Microsoft's Xbox One, which released late last year in the UK and US before trickling out to several other regions, will have its reach greatly expanded by September, with the company's own Major Nelson having revealed its plans to release the console to 26 new markets in that month.
Titanfall has, without any doubt, been the most anticipated game to release so far in 2014, and today, Xbox One users can finally pick up their copy. Microsoft rolled out a big system update last week, with one of the main improvements being to bolster the infrastructure of online multiplayer in anticipation for Titanfall's release, and after much ado, interested parties can now dive straight into the action.
Although certain markets, namely Europe, have benefited from a free title with every new Xbox One purchase, those in the United States haven't been so fortunate. But as of next week, certain Stateside retail outlets will include a free digital copy of Forza Motorsport 5 for a limited time only.
The age of the Titans is almost upon us, with the upcoming release of the game just around the bend, looming closer by the hour as we approach March 11. Respawn Entertainment’s masterpiece is one of the most anticipated gaming titles of the year, and that is more than evident from the release of Microsoft’s Xbox One Titanfall bundle offer, as well as the collector’s edition pack of the game announced back in October last year. Now, the developer has released an unboxing video for the “very limited” edition of the game, showing all the contents in full glory, from the 18-inch tall Titan to the game itself.
Microsoft’s Xbox One is one heck of a gaming console, and we’ve had more than enough evidence to support that. The company’s efforts to brand it as such is no hidden truth, either; from massive advertising campaigns to discount/bundle offers are more than enough indicators that the software giant wants an Xbox One console in pretty much every living room in the world. Now taking things a notch further, the company is launching another bundle and discount offer that might make it the best time to get on an Xbox One console if you don’t already own it.
Titanfall is one of the most highly-anticipated début games we've seen in a long time, and with the exception of last year's monumental release of Grand Theft Auto 5 from Rockstar Games, it's probably the most-hyped title of the past four or five years. If you too cannot wait to get your hands on this title, which releases on March 11th in North America, then we're giving away some invite codes of Titanfall beta for Xbox One. So, if you're in ownership of Microsoft's latest and greatest console, and would like to test the waters of Titanfall before its release, then check out the details after the break!
The Xbox 360 may have won the last major console battle over the PlayStation 3, but even though the latest machines have only been around for a couple of months, Sony's latest PlayStation 4 is already establishing a degree of authority over its Redmond-made rival. By the close of the year, the PS4 had sold 1.2 million more units compared with the Xbox One, and even though the latter did sell more in December in the United States, sales figures for January by NPD Group indicate that Sony's new machine outsold its adversary by a ratio of almost 2-to-1, but there’s a small surprise lurking inside the numbers.
Microsoft has just unveiled a new stereo headset for the Xbox One, the features of which will make for a premium in-game and general entertainment experience. But if you already have a headset that you wish to use with your Xbox One rather than buying a whole new one, then the good news is that you can hook it up to your new console by means of a legitimate Xbox One Headset Adapter, which the Redmond is selling separately. Further information can be seen after the break!
The Xbox One entertainment system only arrived back in November, but with the dust having settled and the early adopters busily getting to grips with the new interface, Microsoft has officially announced that the first system update is headed next week. The Redmond company, which only yesterday unveiled Satya Nadella as its new CEO, has a lot going on at the moment with the Windows 8.1 Update 1 also in development, but as per Xbox LIVE's very own Major Nelson, the forthcoming update will include quite a few noteworthy enhancements.
