Today at Microsoft Global Exchange Conference (MGX), Microsoft has officially announced that Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 are complete and are now ready for Release to Manufacturing (RTM) to the OEM’s & other Partners.
Windows Home Server Power Pack 3 Beta was released last week and it brought much needed and improved Media Center integration with Windows Home Server alongside other features which improves its experience with Windows 7. Power Pack 2 added the functionality of making it easier to access content stored on a Home Server from a Media Center PC, Power Pack 3 takes it a step further.
Just came across this thread on Windows 7 Center forums about a new possible Windows 7 RTM Build 6.1.7600.17000.win7_rtm.090717 and thought I should share it with you all. The build string 6.1.7600.17000.win7_rtm.090717 suggests that it was compiled today. However it isn't available for download yet but it is rumored to be the possible final RTM build which is to be announced in the last week of July.
Yet another Windows 7 Build from RTM branch has been leaked in both x86 and x64 forms. The build string for this build is 7600.16385.win7_rtm.090713-1255 which means that it was compiled on 13th July, 2009.

Just found these images from a Chinese site named PCBETA. These images were taken from a Microsoft sponsored event on Windows 7 RC held in China. The images seen below clearly confirms yet again that the art found on leaked Boxes of Windows 7 were indeed real!

Microsoft today has announced the public availability of the much anticipated Windows 7 Release Candidate. The official download links for both x86 and x64 version of Windows 7 Release Candidate in five languages (English, German, Japanese, French, and Spanish) have gone live. Download them here.
I have just installed Windows Virtual PC along with Windows XP Mode Beta (aka XPM) on Windows 7 RC x64 and I am absolutely amazed with its simplicity and easy to use nature. It couldn't have been made any simpler! XPM is basically built as a side feature of Windows Virtual PC – the next version of Microsoft’s client virtualization technology and comes with a free fully licensed and pre-configured copy of Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3).
Microsoft today has announced the availability of Windows 7 Release Candidate Build for both the MSDN and TechNet Plus subscribers. TechNet Plus and MSDN subscribers can now get to test & evaluate Windows 7 RC before the public roll out on May 5.
