Reportedly, Microsoft has RTM’ed Windows 7! The final release of Windows 7 has the build string 6.1.7600.16384.win7_rtm.090710-1945 which means that it was compiled on 10th July, 2009.
ClearType Tuner is a pretty cool feature that I came to know about through an article on detector pro. It is generally really helpful and a blessing in disguise to people like me who have eyesight problems. It makes the text appear relatively clearer and thus reduces the strain on the eyes. The text appears smoother and darker. Infact you can sharpen it to the extent you want. If for reasons you want the text to appear blurred, you can do so. Reading lengthy pieces of material becomes easy with this technology. In short, it tunes up your display pretty well.
Microsoft Store, Amazon, BestBuy and other partner stores are now accepting pre-orders on Windows 7 with a special discount offer for a limited time in United States, Canada and Japan. Residents of the UK, France and Germany will be offered a discount starting on July 15.

I have just installed Windows Virtual PC along with Windows XP Mode Beta (aka XPM) on Windows 7 RC x64 and I am absolutely amazed with its simplicity and easy to use nature. It couldn't have been made any simpler! XPM is basically built as a side feature of Windows Virtual PC – the next version of Microsoft’s client virtualization technology and comes with a free fully licensed and pre-configured copy of Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3).
Microsoft today has announced the availability of Windows 7 Release Candidate Build for both the MSDN and TechNet Plus subscribers. TechNet Plus and MSDN subscribers can now get to test & evaluate Windows 7 RC before the public roll out on May 5.
Back in September last year, I wrote this article about accessing FTP sites using Windows Vista. I then completely shifted to Windows 7 (starting from M3 Build which was released at PDC 2008) only to find out that I couldn't get the FTP site location thing to work in Windows 7 as it did for me in Windows Vista. This functionality was probably broken or disabled by Microsoft on purpose for testing in all the builds up to Windows 7 Build 7057.
As you all may have already known by now that Windows 7 Build 7077 has hit the Internet already and it is said to be the part of Release Candidate build branch which is likely to be made public next month. I have been playing around with this build for the most part of today and have found this to be the most stable x86 version of Windows 7 to date.
A Japanese Microsoft blogger has mistakenly posted a screenshot of what appears to be from the latest build of Windows 7.
Well here it is. Starting from Windows 7 Build 7057, the most prominent and talked about change is the new Windows login and shutdown screens which is equipped with flower ornaments on a gorgeous looking aqua-bluish background.
