Windows 7 was released on 22nd October last year. Meant to be the real successor to the extremely successful XP, Windows 7 added features like Superbar (overhauled taskbar), multi-touch support and better networking. But the most significant new thing about W7 was the smooth performance and reliable driver support.
In an official statement released by Microsoft, the Redmond based software giant has sold 175 million Windows 7 Licenses in one year since its launch which has helped them top Apple’s profits in this quarter. In contrast to last year’s revenue where Microsoft saw its first ever sales decline in history, this year, Microsoft is reporting $16.04 billion in revenue which is about 22 percent increase from the same period last year for the Q4 quarter which ended on June 30 2010.
You can keep on talking about desktops era being over, iPads and tablets killing Windows based netbooks and notebooks, but you cant deny the fact that Windows 7 is by far the fastest selling OS in the history! and it runs on majority of the notebooks/netbooks and desktop PCs near you.

Panasonic has announced a new line-up of “Let’s Go” notebooks and amongst them is a netbook “Let’s Note”, sporting the new Intel Core i7 processor.
