Sn0wbreeze 2.9.10 has just been released to jailbreak iOS 6.1.2 untethered, but first things first, if you have an iPhone 5, iPhone 4S, or any of the other newer iOS device, you should follow our tutorial posted here to jailbreak iOS 6.1.2 using Evasi0n.
Evasi0n 1.4 has just been released to jailbreak iOS 6.1.2 untethered on iPhone 5, 4S, 4, 3GS, iPod touches, and all other devices. You can download the latest version of Evasi0n from here, and jailbreak using the instructions illustrated below.
Whenever a new jailbreak is released, Apple is usually pretty quickly off the mark in releasing a new update to plug the exploits which made said jailbreak possible in the first place. But this time around, it looks as though the 23MB update for the iPhone 4S does little more than it purports, in fixing a few lingering cellular issues.
The ongoing cat-and-mouse battle between Apple and the jailbreak scene took a huge swing in favor of the latter on Monday, with the release of the Evasi0n jailbreak tool. Not only did it offer a solution for every iOS device on the market, the jailbreak was also untethered in nature, meaning once the jailbreak was applied, users could enjoy an uninterrupted experience. With the release of iOS 6.1.1 beta 1 for developers, it was presumed Apple had - as it tends to do with all jailbreaks - patched the hole allowing for the userland exploit and subsequent jailbreak, but in short, they haven't, though they will likely patch it in the next beta or at least before iOS 6.1.1 is public.
Those looking to jailbreak their iOS devices can rejoice, since a new tool named Evasi0n has just been released by the Evad3rs team which allows for an iOS 6.1 untethered jailbreak on almost all of the devices.
Release date of the upcoming iOS 6.x untethered jailbreak has just been confirmed by the official Twitter account of the team Evad3rs. It’s coming on Monday, February 4, 2013.
This is just in. The Evad3rs team have just announced Evasi0n, an iOS 6 / 6.1 untethered jailbreak tool for Windows, Mac and Linux. While the tool hasn’t been released yet, it is currently in final testing stages, and release is likely set for Sunday.
If you've been following the iOS 6 jailbreak saga, you'll know that things haven't run as smoothly this time around as with previous iOS releases. But with so many talented individuals on the case, it was only going to be a matter of time, and with this Sunday being the day of the Super Bowl, it would appear as though the Evad3rs team will be ready to drop an untethered jailbreak for those on iOS 6.x, making for a great weekend all around.
If you're a regular follower of our coverage here at Redmond Pie, there's a pretty good chance you're into your jailbreaks. As most of you will probably be aware, progress on an iOS 6 untethered jailbreak has been steady, but trying at times, and although the usual dev suspects have been plugging away, Apple's robust security enhancements have made things just that little bit trickier than ever before. So you can imagine our amazement when a group by the name of "Dream JB" took the scene by storm by not only claiming to have found an iOS 6 untether, but set a date for its release. Unfortunately, like most things that seem too good to be true, it would appear this is nothing more than the elaborate ploy of a hoaxer, with various established and credible modders and developers having already stepped out to refute the very notion of "Dream JB."
Many of you have been in touch with burning questions regarding an iOS 6 / 6.0.1 jailbreak on iPhone 5 and other devices, or specifically, when it would be arriving. Hence this post, in which we'll run through the story so far and hopefully, clarify things a little further.
