iOS 7 launched last week has been immediately adopted on a mass scale with more than 200 million devices estimated to be already running the said firmware.
One of the great things about the annual iPhone hardware and software releases is that most of things usually take a back seat for a while. The jailbreak loving community are usually renowned for staying away from major iOS updates until one of the respected community members says it's ok to install pending a new jailbreak release, but iOS 7 is such a vast change that it may prove difficult this time around. If jailbreaking is your thing then amid all of Apple’s iOS 7 madness today, there has also been an important update regarding the iOS 6.1.3 / 6.1.4 untethered jailbreak that we know has been worked on since weeks.
Following the news that Apple had plugged the Evasi0n untethered jailbreak for A5+ powered iPhone 5, iPad and other new devices with the release of iOS 6.1.3, it was a case of being back to square one for those purchasing these new devices. Anybody running iOS 6.1.2 or earlier can jailbreak across the board, but if iOS 6.1.3 taught us anything, it's that the cat is never too far behind the mouse, and will eventually get clawed. Usually, this is a demoralizing period of time, yet although there is of course no untethered jailbreak just yet for the very latest firmware, we have already seen plenty of very encouraging signs for future firmware releases.
The Evad3rs team has updated its famed Evasi0n tool to jailbreak iOS 6, 6.1, 6.1.2 with improved boot times. Some users were finding the post-jailbreak boot time was considerably longer than it should have been, but this latest update fixes all that. Those already jailbroken need not jailbreak again; instead check within your Cydia packages for the updated list, which should become apparent after a refresh.
